The Twix Meet is at the George Starkey Hut until the New Year

The next day walks will be on Tuesday 13 January. Please contact Meet Organiser if you want to attend.

The Annual Dinner weekend is 7-8 February 2026. Dinner is booked at the Inn on the Lake.

Snowshoeing Trip - March 2026
Elsbeth Robson (ABMSAC Member), is leading a women's snowshoeing meet for AACUK/ABM members based in Les Contamines-Montjoie, Mont Blanc Massif, French Alps 22 - 28 March. Brief details are on the AACUK website.

London Lecture Series - Tuesday 6 January 2026 at CSC - Trekking in Georgia will be presented by Judy Renshaw, a member.

There is an article on Swissinfo about the melting permafrost threatening mountain regions, including the Swiss Alps. It makes interesting reading on the future of many Alpine areas and huts.

Local support in the Lake District

We are a member of the Friends of the Lake District.

We support the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
They are celebrating 60 years this year. The latest Newsletter updates recent events and news.

Patterdale Primary School - We donated money to the school to help fund their 'Forest School and Garden Club'. We are delighted that the school won awards in the Cumbria in Bloom Schools Competition.
